Strapping, also known as banding, is one of the most reliable ways to secure and unitise goods for storage and transport. Applied under tension around cartons, pallets and bundles, it holds loads firmly together and prevents shifting in transit.
Our range covers polypropylene straps for everyday bundling, high-strength polyester straps for heavy loads, and metal buckles for manual fastening.

What is Strapping?

Strapping is a strong, flexible band applied under tension to hold a load together. In packaging, the two principal materials are polypropylene (PP) and polyester (PET).

The difference between them is strength and stretch. PP is light, flexible and economical, making it suitable for carton sealing, bundling and light to medium loads. PET is far stronger with much lower stretch, so it holds tension over long periods and is widely used as a replacement for steel strapping on heavy or rigid loads.

Strapping is applied either by machine or by hand. Machine strapping uses a sealer or friction weld to close the strap, while manual strapping is secured with a metal strap buckle.

Our Strapping Range

Stretch film is used to unitise and stabilise palletised goods, protecting them from movement, moisture and dust in transit.
PP Straps
Our polypropylene straps are made from virgin, light-density polypropylene. Water resistant with high tensile strength, they suit sealing, reinforcing and bundling across all types of box strapping machines.
PET Straps
Our polyester straps deliver steel-like strength with low elongation, holding tension over long periods. Rust-free and UV-resistant, they are designed for heavy palletised loads and export shipments.
Strap Buckles
Metal buckles are used to join, secure and adjust straps by hand. They pair with polypropylene strapping for manual bundling where a strapping machine is not used.

Strap Selection Guide

Why

Industrial Applications

Logistics and Palletising
Warehouses and distribution centres use strapping to secure palletised loads for storage and dispatch. Applied under tension, straps keep cartons and unit loads stable through repeated handling.
Manufacturing and Bundling
Manufacturers use straps to bundle products such as pipes, rods, timber and boxes. The band keeps items securely grouped during movement within the facility and during onward transport.
Construction and Heavy Industry
Heavy and rigid loads, such as bricks, building materials, and metal products, call for polyester strapping. PET holds tension over long periods, keeping loads tightly secured through export and long-distance transport.

Strapping FAQ

Q) What is the difference between PP and PET straps?
PP straps are light, flexible and economical, which suits light to medium-duty bundling and high-volume packing. PET straps are much stronger and have lower stretch, so they maintain tension over time and are used for heavy or rigid loads as an alternative to steel strapping.
Q) Which strap is best for heavy loads?
PET strapping is the right choice for heavy and rigid loads such as bricks, timber and metal products. Its high breaking strength and low elongation keep loads securely fastened during storage, handling, and long-distance transport.
Q) What are strap buckles used for?
Strap buckles are metal fasteners used to join and tension straps by hand. They allow secure manual strapping and length adjustment where a strapping machine is not being used.
Q) Can strapping be used with automatic machines?
Yes. PP straps are made for manual, semi-automatic and automatic box strapping machines. PET straps are typically applied with pneumatic or battery-powered friction-weld tools, which handle their higher tension.
Q) Is plastic strapping recyclable?
Both PP and PET straps are recyclable. PET, in particular, has a high recycling value and is often produced with recycled content, making it a practical choice for businesses seeking to reduce packaging waste.
Q) Do you supply strapping in bulk across the UAE?
Yes. We stock PP straps, PET straps and strap buckles in Dubai and supply them in bulk to logistics, manufacturing and construction customers. Please contact us for bulk pricing and lead times.
